British Landing Road Mackinac Island, MI 49757 p: 906.847.3871 This course is located on the historical island of Mackinac. The designer of the course, Alex Smith, came from Carnoustie, Scotland. The course is like a Scottish links design. The fairways are average width, and the greens are small. The gently rolling terrain makes walking comfortable. This resort island can be reached via a ferry trip of twenty minutes. The battle of Mackinac was fought here and thirteen American soldiers are buried in the middle of an island of trees located on the course. The island is two miles long, one and one half miles wide, and has approximately 600-year-round residents. There is an additional set of tees that can be used when playing an eighteen hole round. |
