This championship county course, managed by Kemper Sports, has holes that range from wide open to tree lined. There is extensive bunkering in the design and water comes into play on several holes, so an emphasis is placed on accuracy. The bent-grass greens are average-sized and undulating. The signature hole is #5, a 202-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot over an environmentally-protected area. Discounted rates for county residents, seniors and juniors are available certain days and times. Walkers also enjoy a discounted fee schedule at all times. The Timbers is conveniently located in beautiful Howard County; just 2 minutes off I-95 and Rte. 100; 10 minutes from BWI airport; 15 miles from Baltimore and 35 miles from Washington DC.
