This narrow course has tree-lined fairways, so shot accuracy is at a premium. Some of the undulating greens are multi-tiered, and some are elevated, but all of them are well bunkered. Water hazards (two ponds and a creek) come into play on three holes. The signature hole is #11, a 430-yard, par 4, requiring an extremely difficult approach shot over water to an undulating green. A major bunker project was completed in 1999-2000 under the guidance of Toronto-based architect, Ian Andrew, whose goal was to restore the original Walter Travis bunkers and mounding that were removed in the 1950's.
