This very demanding course features a few water hazards and numerous sand bunkers incorporated into its design. The greens are large and difficult to read. The signature hole is #2, a 505-yard, par 5, requiring an uphill tee shot to a narrow landing area guarded by large oak trees, then two more uphill shots to the green. "GOLFWEEK" ranked this course 75th among "America's 100 Best Classical Courses" for 1997, 100th for 1998 and 97th for 1999. Several designers have done renovations over the years, most recently by Geoffrey Cornish and Brian Silva in 1979.
