Harbour Town Golf Links
Every year, PGA pros take to the fairway of famed Harbour Town Golf Links to vie for the champion's tartan jacket at the Verizon Heritage. Ranked as the #1 course in South Carolina by Golf Magazine, this is the most sought after course to play on Hilton Head Island. Designed by Pete Dye in consultation with Jack Nicklaus, Harbour Town Golf Links is reminiscent of Scottish course of olde. Measuring 6,973 yards from the Heritage tees with a slope of 146, the par-71 course is deceptively short by today's standards and requires perfectly positioned shots, arrow-straight accuracy and unwavering consistency on the part of the player.
Ocean Course
The first golf course on Hilton Head Island, the Ocean Course is a scenic Oceanside experience and a true resort classic. The course was rebuilt in 1995 by Mark McCumber and features the signature oceanfront 15th hole with panoramic water views. Lagoons and bunkers add challenge to the traditionally designed course. Ocean is one of two Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary courses at The Sea Pines Resort.
Sea Marsh Course
The best of the Lowcountry is showcased on the Sea Marsh Course. Meandering fairways alongside tidal marshes and through lush oak and price woods are the focal point of George Cobb's 1967 course, revitalized by Clyde Johnston in 1990. While length is not a factor and fairways are wide, the greens are well bunkered, requiring exacting approach shots. A visit to Hilton Head Island requires a round on the Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, which feature the signature 163-yard 13th hole, a picturesque par 3.
