3641 Hwy 97B SE Salmon Arm, BC V1E 4P6 Canada p: 250.832.4727 Website This facility has and eighteen hole championship course and a nine hole executive course. It was founded in 1928 by local residents and originally opened with six holes. It has undergone many reconstruction's and its membership has grown to over 900. In 1994, the championship course was redesigned by Les Furber and the executive course was added. In classic Furber style, the natural terrain was retained resulting in rolling hills and mature trees lining the fairways. There are four tee placements, which offer a challenging and enjoyable game for all skill levels. The signature hole is #18, a 504-yard, par 5, which is a true risk/reward hole to wrap up your round. The green is reachable with two long, well-placed shots. The narrow fairway is tree lined and the green is guarded in front by a bunker as well as a lake. Should you choose to lay-up, your approach shot remains a challenge as you must carry the lake and the bunker. The BCGA's slope rating of back tees is the second highest in British Columbia. "Golf Canada" ranked Salmon Arms among the top 20 courses in the province and the top 60 in Canada. The Executive Course was designed and built for the entry-level golfer, however, all levels can enjoy a pleasant walk and some challenges from the unique par 3's. A particularly difficult hole is #6, a 177-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot into a narrow, tree-lined chute to a large, elevated green. There is a nine hole cart rate for the Executive Course. Soft spikes are strongly recommended. The 5,655-yard ladies' tee on the Championship Course also has a men's course rating of 68.8 and slope of 130. The 4,983-yard ladies' tee also has a men's course rating of 65.5 and slope of 123. |
