Rutgers University 18 Hole Golf Course, located in the township of Piscataway on the University's Busch Campus, was opened in 1963. Course play is open to the public.
The golf course is par 71 for men, par 72 for women, 6000 plus yards in length, and a challenging layout with 4 teeing areas per hole.
The picturesque course design is highlighted by having each hole named for a specific tree. The par 3 eleventh hole is a signature hole, bordered by a 200 year old sour gum tree. In 2000, Golf Digest Magazine awarded the Rutgers University Golf Course 3 1/2 stars in its "Places to Play."
The Rutgers University Golf Course is the home and main practice facility for the Rutgers University men's and women's golf teams, as well as the site of several major intercollegiate, scholastic and open tournamen
This tree-lined course's fairways are narrow, and the undulating greens are fast. Water hazards come into play on half the holes. Hal Purdy designed the back nine and redesigned the existing holes in 1963.
