Originally designed by Billy Bell Jr., River Ridge opened in 1986. In 1994 the course underwent a major renovation. Today, the course offers golfers of all skill levels a challenge by employing four sets of tees that range from 5,362 yards to 6,777 yards.

Noted for its magnificent greens, River Ridge is laid out over 230 acres of rolling, open terrain that provides a Scottish links layout. Roughs are generally cut short and the course features over eight acres of water, including an island green. While appearing "wide open," the course demands accuracy to score well.
