The river surrounds the course and affects play on eight holes, and an additional two holes are affected by major lakes. The front nine holes are links-style and the back are Arizona desert-style with waste areas separating fairways and greens. The greens are well tiered, undulating and extremely well protected with strategically-placed bunkers. The signature hole is #12, a 148-yard, par 3, featuring a 100-foot drop from the tee box onto a two level green surrounded by bunkers and the river in back. The course has hosted several major events since its opening, including the 1992 The Canadian Tour, the 1993 Alberta Amateur, a 1994 skins game featuring four PGA professionals, Wayne Grady, Ian Baker Finch, Craig Stadler, and Dave Barr, and the 1997 inaugural Canadian Senior Match Play. The eighteen hole green fee is an all-day fee. Senior discounts are offered on Tuesday before noon. The 5,832-yard men's tee also has a ladies' course rating of 74.9 and slope of 133. |
