330 Golf Club Drive Fairbanks, AK 99712 p: 907.455.8362 This facility is known as the "World's Northernmost Golf Course." It was designed to provide all the mannerisms of a Scottish-links course. This course features broad fairways built on predominantly flat terrain that are surrounded by scenic hills. The greens are medium to large in size and slow, and the rough is thick. Water hazards (ponds) come into play on several holes. The signature hole is #9, a 315-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot through a tunnel of trees, then an uphill approach shot to a green protected by out-of-bounds stakes on the left and in the rear. In addition, there is a 570-yard, par 5, which is quite challenging. "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 9th "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996. There are additional tees that can be used when playing an eighteen hole round. This course has six newly-renovated greens and Roger Evans is designing an additional nine holes to open in 2000. |
