This course was a private facility until 1991, but now it is open to the public. The course was carved out of its natural surroundings and features spectacular views of the Ozark Mountains. The front nine is gently sloping, while the back nine demands strategy and precise shotmaking. The signature hole is #14, a 560-yard, par 5, featuring an eighty-foot drop from tee to fairway. Hole #15, an uphill 395-yard, par 4, is considered by many to be the most difficult hole in the state. "Golf Digest" rated this course as the #1 "Best Public Course" in the state from 1996-1998. The other tee shown is a ladies' championship tee. Golfers may walk the course anytime, however the green fees remain the same. The 6280-yard men's tee also has a ladies' course rating of 73.0 and slope of 144; the ladies' tee also has a men's course rating of 66.2 and slope of 126.
