A short driving distance from Baltimore is Mountain Branch Golf course. This 18-hole facility was designed by Jeff Matthai & David Sezna, and opened for play October 2000. The course embodies a variety of styles, with rolling fairways, some of which are open and some tree-lined. The greens are medium sized and not too severely undulating, and play at a moderate speed of about 10 in the stimpmeter. Water comes into play on 4 holes. Combined with three sets of tees, these features add up to a challenging course for the seasoned player and novice alike. A semi-private daily fee course, Mountain Branch is open to the public, yet also offers annual memberships. Green fees include cart and range balls and coolers are prohibited on the course.
