450 Ardmore Avenue Ardmore, PA 19003 p: 610.642.5600 f: 610.642.9829 Website This club has two regulation eighteen hole courses. Guests are not allowed to play either course unless accompanied by a club member. Both courses are built on gently rolling terrain and feature fast greens and narrow fairways that have limited trees, but are lined by a thick rough. Both courses are kept in excellent condition, although the East Course is kept up to championship-level standards every day. One of the best holes on the East Course is #16, featuring a limestone quarry in front of the green that must be carried on the approach shot. The 1934, 1950, 1971, and 1981 U.S. Opens were played here. "Golf Digest" rated the East Course 5th best out of "America's 100 Greatest Courses" for 1995-96, and 8th best for 1997-98. It was also rated as the #1 "Best in State" course for 1995-96, and 2nd best for 1997-98. Other awards include "GOLF Magazine's" ranking of 7th among the "Top 100 Courses in the U.S." for 1995, 1997 and 1999, 9th in "GOLFWEEK's" category of "America's 100 Best Classical Courses" for 1997 and 1998, and 6th in the same category for 1999. |
