Northwest of Detroit is Lyon Oaks Golf Course, an eighteen hole municipal track designed by Arthur Hills. Lyon Oaks opened for play May 2002, and is situated within a 1,025-acre county park. This course is a mix of styles, from open meadow, through hardwood forest, and wetlands. The fairways are constructed through a rolling terrain lined with many mature trees. The medium-sized greens have subtle breaks, and are moderate in speed. Water, including wetlands, comes into play on twelve holes, and there are plenty of bunkers placed strategically throughout the layout. Lyon Oaks plays from 4,525 to 6,837-yards and there are five sets of tees to accommodate all levels of play. For additional information call (248) 437-1488.
