500 Little River Farm Road Carthage, NC 28327 p: 910.949.4600 This very scenic course features many elevation changes. The course was developed on a horse farm and provides numerous panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. You can see for several miles from some holes. In addition, scenic wetlands, as well as the bridges that are used to cross them, add to the beauty of this course. The front nine fairways are open compared to the back nine. The undulating greens are sloped, and the grounds crew is known for their excellent pin placements. Water hazards (including the Little River and ponds) come into play on six holes. The signature hole is #6, a 485-yard, par 5, requiring a tee shot up an hourglass-shaped fairway that is surrounded by wetlands, then either a second or approach shot to a well-bunkered green guarded by a pond on the left. An old hay barn is being converted into one of the areas most unique clubhouses. The 5,710-yard men's tee also has a ladies' course rating of 72.9 and a slope of 129. |
