Highway 105 Linville, NC 28646 p: 828.898.9741 This mountainous course, located 5,000 feet above sea level, is the highest course east of the Mississippi. It was carved out of the natural terrain and has fairly wide-open fairways. "Golf Digest" rated this as the 14th "Best in State" course for 1995-96, and the 16th best for 1997-98. The heavily-undulating greens are large, and water hazards come into play on five holes. The signature hole is #11, a 389-yard, par 4, located at the highest point on the course and overlooking Grandfather Mountain. Mountain lions, foxes, bobcats, and other wildlife are frequently seen on the course. |
