83 Roseboro Road Linville, NC 28646 p: 828.733.4363 This traditional Donald Ross course is located in a valley beneath Grandfather Mountain and features many changes in elevation. The fairways are severely sloping, and the small greens are fast and slightly undulating. A creek meanders through the course and must be crossed at least fourteen times. The signature hole is #3, a 449-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot over the crest of a hill to a valley, then uphill approach shots over the creek twice to a small green. "Golf Digest" rated this as the 16th "Best in State" course for 1995-96, and they also placed it 19th among the "Top 75 Affordable Golf Courses" for 1997. In addition, "GOLF Magazine" ranked it 25th in the category of the "Top 100 Courses You Can Play in the U.S." for 1998, and "GOLFWEEK" named it 88th among "America's 100 Best Classical Courses" for 1997. |
