The club hosted the State Amateur Tournament in 1990. "Golf Digest" rated this 58th out of "America's 100 Greatest Courses" for 1995-96, and 45th best in 1997-98. The same publication rated it as the 3rd "Best in State" course for 1995-96, and 2nd best in 1997-98. "GOLFWEEK" chose the course 55th among "America's 100 Best Classical Courses" in 1997, 54th in 1998 and 49th in 1999. In addition "GOLF Magazine" ranked it 86th out of the "Top 100 Courses in the U.S." for 1995, 75th in 1997 and 69th for 1999.
