The Hampton Club is constructed on land once home to an antebellum-Georgia coastal plantation. The course opened for play in 1989 and was designed by architect Joe Lee. This championship eighteen hole track meanders through saltmarsh, and across lakes and lagoons. This course is noted for the marsh island holes, which are reached by traveling along 800-feet of elevated, marsh-traversing cart bridges to reach the marsh islands.
