1700 Old Monticello Road Thomasville, GA 31792 p: 912.226.1780 This course, which is the oldest in Georgia, was listed by the USGA as one of the first 100 clubs established in the U.S. In addition, "GOLF Magazine" recognized it in their 1995 list of "The First 100 Clubs in America." It is a very historical course with pictures in the clubhouse of President Eisenhower playing during one of his trips to Thomasville. The terrain is hilly, and the fairways have many old, large pine trees lining them. The course has a bit of everything including elevated tees, tree-lined fairways, water, tees that require a draw or a fade, some target shots, and two holes where the long hitter can reach the par 5's in two shots. The club hosts the Piney Woods Invitational every July. |
