250 North Youngs Road Williamsville, NY 14221 p: 716.632.1100 This gorgeous course will give your golfing abilities a very good test. The tree-lined fairways are tight, plush, and rolling. The small greens are well manicured, fast, and undulating. The signature hole is #18, a 401-yard, par 4, requiring your shots uphill and into the wind to a long and narrow green. This hole plays to the clubhouse where there is a spectacular rock garden that adds to the course's beauty. This club was originally established in 1889 and has been listed by the USGA as one of the first 100 clubs in the U.S. It was also recognized in "GOLF Magazine's" 1995 list of "The First 100 Clubs in America." The 1912 U.S. Open was held here and the winner was John McDermott. The course has undergone several redesigns, such as the 1923 design by Donald Ross and later by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. in 1954 and Geoffrey Cornish in 1965. |
