This club has been the home of PGA Tour's MasterCard Colonial since 1938. The club hosted the 1941 U.S. Open, and the winner that year was Craig Wood. "Golf Digest" rated this course 41st best out of "America's 100 Greatest Courses" for 1995-96, and 47th best for 1997-98. It was also rated it as the "Best in State" course for the years 1995 through 1998. In addition, "GOLF Magazine" awarded it 34th among the "Top 100 Courses in the U.S." for 1995, 50th for 1997 and 52nd for 1999. "GOLFWEEK" ranked it 41st in the category of "America's 100 Best Classical Courses" for 1997, 46th in 1998 and 48th in 1999. |
