140 Cateechee Trail Hartwell, GA 30643 p: 706.856.4653 This course, located in Northeast Georgia, is one of only twelve in the nation that have been recognized as being part of the Audubon International Signature Program. Spanning over 475 acres, the course is located in rustic tranquility. Nature trails connect holes on this versatile course, which in some areas is links in style, and others a mountainous terrain. The fast greens are touted as the best in the area. Some fairways are tree lined, others are skirted by natural grasses. This is not a tight course. The signature hole is #17, a 640-yard, par 5, which features a natural ravine on the left side, making it imperative to drive right. The second shot requires avoiding a pair of fairway sand bunkers. The green is small and elevated. Cedar Creek meanders through the course, coming into play on five holes. "Golf Digest" selected it 6th among the "Best New Affordable" courses for 1999. |
