One of the oldest courses in California, Buenaventura (originally called Montalvo Golf Course), was first laid out in 1932. Large trees line the fairways making straight drives a necessity. Driving the golf ball isn’t the only challenge at Buenaventura, as the greens are of modest size, very undulating and well bunkered, thus making it very difficult to save par if your iron shots wander. If you can hit a straight drive, and use high, soft irons, and putt and chip the ball close, Buenaventura Golf Course should be very easy for you.
