326 Fuller Street Newtonville, MA 02165 p: 617.244.4411 This club offers both an eighteen hole course and a nine hole course. Donald Ross designed both courses. The Highland Course was constructed on gently rolling terrain, and features small greens and narrow tree-lined fairways. The Main Course has three water hazards. The fairways are narrow, and the greens are large. The club was founded in 1897. "Golf Digest" rated this as the 4th "Best in State" course for 1995-96, and 10th best for 1997-98. The Women's U.S. Amateur was held at this club in 1997. The 1919 U.S. Open was also held here and the winner was Walter Hagen. Both courses have been redesigned several times since Donald Ross originally laid out the course in 1912. |
