The out-of-bounds areas are native grasses and wildflowers. The entire western boundary of the course abuts the Cedarburg Bog, the largest peatland in southern Wisconsin. "Golf Digest" selected this course 7th in the category of "Best New Private Courses" for 1996, and they also rated it as the 6th "Best in State" course for 1997-98. The 6,129-yard men's tee also has a ladies' course rating of 75.9 and slope of 136 for ladies. The 5,110-yard ladies' tee also has a men's course rating of 65.4 and slope of 121.
