Water hazards come into play on one hole on the front nine, while the hilly back nine is best known for its tree-lined fairways. "GOLFWEEK" ranked this course 72nd among "America's 100 Best Classical Courses" for 1997, 87th in 1998 and 92nd in 1999. The course has been redesigned several times over the years, most recently by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. in 1986. In 2000 and 2001 the course was restored to the original Donald Ross design. This club only has a limited amount of riding carts; therefore, these carts are reserved for persons with disabilities or for anyone with a medical excuse not to walk. Aronimink Golf Club has been selected to host the 64th Senior PGA Championship in June 2003. Aronimink Golf Club offers a caddie instruction program. Electric carts are available only to golfers with disabilities and seniors (age 70 and over). |
