Touted as the world's only "international" golf course, The Ambush at Lajitas is a championship eighteen hole golf course and part of the exclusive "Lajitas: The Ultimate Hideout" private resort. Located in the badlands of west Texas within the 22,000 acres of the Chihuahuan Desert, The Ambush was designed by architects Roy Bechtol and Randy Russell, and opened for play in October 2002. This course boasts an optional "par one" nineteenth (located between holes #11 and #12) that plays across the Rio Grande to a "south-of-the-border" green - adding "international" to the club's moniker.
